*taking a moment to celebrate the Monday thru Friday's*
(is it weird that I always wanted a flip flop tan line?)
The forecast going into this week was five.straight.days of "thunderstorm icon"...
Wednesday morning it was pouring rain when I left for work. I was dressed head-to-toe in rain gear. But by the time I got off (half-day whoop whoop!) the clouds had cleared up, the sun was shining and it was HOT. I took Ted for a quick walk, then headed down to the pool. (for literally only the third time this year!)
The pool at our apartment is pretty sweet. It's surrounded by palm trees. Has huge umbrellas. An outdoor kitchen. A waterfall. But my favorite part is that one end is only 6 inches deep and has these little chairs (I'm sure there is a name for them, but don't know it..) that you can put right in the shallow water and sit halfway in/halfway out. I brought a book with me and stayed for over an hour sitting in that little heaven. I am still reading this book (The Happiness Project)...I always have a hard time reading books that aren't "stories." It takes me so much longer because I have to actually process what it all means. (meaning if I read it right before bed I will be tired and not remember/fall asleep instantly) But on this day I was really into the book and read a huge chunk. I went home feeling super inspired to clean out my closets. Haven't yet, but still inspired to ;)
I am one of those people who really, really needs quiet time so this little hour was everything to me. I would have stayed longer, but the shoulders were getting a little pink, and of course the pup was back at home and needed to play.
Hopefully the weather will clear up for good soon, and I can enjoy many more of these serene pool moments.
Happy Weekend people! x.
