I have a problem...

and its name is Netflix. Or more specifically, Gilmore Girls.

We switch from cable to Netflix every once in a while, and we recently gave cable the axe (so stupidly expensive) and subscribed to Netflix again. We had it for about 6 months last year, and I was borderline unhealthy about it. (I also spent a lot of last year unemployed, soo I found it excusable. haha) But by the time we cancelled it, I had watched almost everything I wanted to and just felt like I was "over it." I watched Lost, Breaking Bad, New Girl and just about every romantic comedy and documentary there was. But now...a little over a year later, there is so much more!! I mean, they have GILMORE GIRLS! I don't want to admit exactly how many episodes/seasons I've blown through in the past two weeks, but it could basically qualify as being a full time job. And the saddest part is that I've already seen every single episode! But, it's the best! And to be fair, I do kind of just keep it on whenever I'm at home regardless of if I'm paying full attention or not. So it's not that bad right? Still, I'm obsessed. John keeps commenting on how "fast" they talk, and Ted probably even recognizes the theme song by now. Then somehow earlier today I landed on Pinterest and got lost in these...

L-O-L all day, every day. It makes me want to have a girl. And drink lots of coffee. And eat Pop-Tarts. Then I found out that there's even Gilmore Girls merchandise..

Adding these to my Christmas list. wink wink ;)

So after I inevitably finish Gilmore Girls, I'll need something new to obsess over. I'm thinking of watching Friends next. I started making a list once of "30 before 30" and all I had was  1.) Have a baby. 2.) Watch Friends. At least I can get one done this summer haha. (breathe John)

Anyone have any other good Netflix recommendations??! Please feel free to fuel my fire.

lots of love. x

  1. I know exactly what you mean! I've gotten hooked back on Gossip Girls and I can't stop! Friends were coming over yesterday and I had to finish my episode before I would join them outside haha!

    1. Lol. Isn't that bad?! I remember a few years ago when I started watching True Blood and I would watch it on my phone like whenever I had a spare moment..it was all I could think about!

  2. I. Love. Binge. Watching. Seriously, I try not to admit it to people. Now I want to watch Gilmore Girls! The show Parenthood just ended and it had Lauren Graham in it and it always made me think of Gilmore Girls. Funny you mention John saying they talk too fast. I had a guy friend in high school always say that if we talked about the show around him. Clearly, they talk at normal speed though, right? I usually gravitate toward drama series', but of course Orange Is The New Black is a must if you haven't seen it yet since the newest season was just released.

    1. Hahah they talk pretty fast, but what I think he means is like they are too quick-witted, they have a come back for everything so fast. You NEED to watch it! I think every girl needs to watch it! I am definitely going to watch Parenthood soon, and of course OITNB!! But I watch that with John...so we will probably average about 2 episodes a week...lol.

  3. Umm...YES!!!! We cancelled our cable last year and live on Netflix and Hulu. Finish friends, watch parenthood, don't trust the b*tch in apartment 23 (only one season), the office, life unexpected, gossip girl, once upon a time, Orange is the new black (if you don't mind crude drama), 90210 (new one), and raising hope. I might have an unhealthy addiction...

Also, I type this as my husband reaches for my phone screaming "tell her not to do it!!"

    1. HAHAHAHAHAHA. That is awesome. Tell him there is nothing he can do to stop me lol! I love your suggestions, and you might be my soul mate because I have watched most of your suggestions. I haven't watched Parenthood, but I heard it was good so that is definitely going on my list! I'm glad to know other people survive without cable too. When we canceled ours the first time, people felt like "bad" for us..but it just is such a waste!

  4. Netflix is wonderful because just when you think you've watched EVERYTHING, you find something new, or in your case, revisit something. Right now i've been binge watching Orange is the New Black.

    1. I don't know if it's just me..but I watched the first two episodes and I don't have this feeling of obsession that I had with the last two seasons. Tell me it picks up???!

  5. A Gilmore Girls addiction is totally acceptable! I've seen every single episode myself. Honestly, I never get bored watching them over and over (especially when Jess entered the picture...ooo the drama of Rory's love triangle).
