Happy 6th bday to our little fur bebe.

Or 6 months if you're counting in human. (I used this dog age calculator to get to that age, haha.)

I know it's ridiculous to celebrate half birthdays. But even babies get to celebrate their 6 month bday right? Just not any more after that, like we won't be celebrating his 1.5 year bday or anything really crazy like that. I think John and I more just wanted to celebrate that we've raised this (fur)baby into a pretty good guy by 6 months old. And really, his little life is going to go by too fast so why not celebrate it all? Even though he doesn't know understand, it's important to us and we want him to know that we love him. (I can't even believe I am this person and I'm saying these things, trust me.)

We took him to the Pet store last night to let him pick out some stuff. Or more like we tried to "let him" but really John just put a bone in his face and Ted obviously thought it was for him then so he liked it and wanted it. Then we walked around like forever with him trying to find something else...but wasn't really finding anything we liked (because we already have so much crap) and I was like, "let's just go" and John was like, "no, we told him we'd get him two toys." Haha, really John is worse than I am. He looooves this dog.

And you're all in for a big treat because now I know how to share videos, so here's Ted looking for a new toy. (or more like us looking for a new toy)

I know, great quality video of Johns feet and me mumbling. I wasn't planning on actually using it for anything, so next time I promise to share something more entertaining. (jk probably not..) But this had to be saved, for memories sake.

He obviously didn't care for the Hedgehog, so we just went with a huge shark that was on clearance because we thought it was funny. And he loves it, so all good! I also picked out some "cookies" from the treat bar, but after reading the ingredients, I'm probably just going to throw the rest away because we are really crazy and basically only feed him organic. ("basically" means he just eats very healthy lol)

Then when we got home, I told him the story of how he was born. Or how I think it probably happened and of course how he was the most special of all his 8 brothers and sisters, and how we were so lucky and happy that he was born and came to live with us. Then he fell asleep, because he's a dog and doesn't care. And I stayed up way too late looking at all the old pictures and videos on my phone of when he was little (and sending them to John while he slept, because crazy.)

Taco Ted, coming Halloween 2015.

Happy "bday" baby boy. Love, your (dog) Mama and your male role model, John.

x.

    1. Hahha no I think it was a costume for little dogs honestly. But I put it on his back and he didn't really mind it, so maybe I'll be able to put a costume on him. I don't know if I'll be that weird or not..but maybe because, what else do I have to do!?

  2. Happy half birthday, Ted!! Brady is turning 1 in two weeks and a little part of me is going to die inside. So sad. And what food do you guys feed him? We're going to be switching to adult food here soon (tears), but I can't decide on which brand is best! Too many choices!

    1. Lol we don't really feed him "organic" we just are really picky about what he eats..(John is really, not me)..but the brand he eats is Canidae. It's grain free and has only real ingredients, and made in the USA. We still mix his with a little bit of his breeders food though, we're about to wean him off that completely. But we like the Canidae brand so far, it's a little expensive but oh well. Ted loves all their treats too, we have them all lol. So, is Brady having a birthday party or what?! (I sound so crazy I know, but I know you are too and you get it haha)

  3. Hahahaha "no, we told him we'd get two toys" cracked me up! I love this. We baby our dogs too. We baby talk to them constantly. I tell them I love them way more often than I tell Michael (don't worry, we still say it every day!). I totally understand.

    1. Omg the baby talk, I can't stop! I sound like a moron! But I don't even care. I feel bad sometimes I'm in one room telling my dog how much I love him, and my husbands in the other room and I'm like "LOVE YOU TOO JOHN!" lol. The dog love is so real though. I never knew.

    1. Haha I didn't actually get him the costume, but I have a feeling I will probably dress him up. I wonder if I could take him out trick or treating. And then keep all the candy for myself. Is dog trick or treating a thing?! It's basically my child so it should be.

  5. That taco costume!!! Too funny! And you have to celebrate the birthdays. Dogs are basically big kids, anyway.
