Or 6 months if you're counting in human. (I used this dog age calculator to get to that age, haha.)
I know it's ridiculous to celebrate half birthdays. But even babies get to celebrate their 6 month bday right? Just not any more after that, like we won't be celebrating his 1.5 year bday or anything really crazy like that. I think John and I more just wanted to celebrate that we've raised this (fur)baby into a pretty good guy by 6 months old. And really, his little life is going to go by too fast so why not celebrate it all? Even though he doesn't know understand, it's important to us and we want him to know that we love him. (I can't even believe I am this person and I'm saying these things, trust me.)
We took him to the Pet store last night to let him pick out some stuff. Or more like we tried to "let him" but really John just put a bone in his face and Ted obviously thought it was for him then so he liked it and wanted it. Then we walked around like forever with him trying to find something else...but wasn't really finding anything we liked (because we already have so much crap) and I was like, "let's just go" and John was like, "no, we told him we'd get him two toys." Haha, really John is worse than I am. He looooves this dog.
And you're all in for a big treat because now I know how to share videos, so here's Ted looking for a new toy. (or more like us looking for a new toy)
I know, great quality video of Johns feet and me mumbling. I wasn't planning on actually using it for anything, so next time I promise to share something more entertaining. (jk probably not..) But this had to be saved, for memories sake.
He obviously didn't care for the Hedgehog, so we just went with a huge shark that was on clearance because we thought it was funny. And he loves it, so all good! I also picked out some "cookies" from the treat bar, but after reading the ingredients, I'm probably just going to throw the rest away because we are really crazy and basically only feed him organic. ("basically" means he just eats very healthy lol)
Then when we got home, I told him the story of how he was born. Or how I think it probably happened and of course how he was the most special of all his 8 brothers and sisters, and how we were so lucky and happy that he was born and came to live with us. Then he fell asleep, because he's a dog and doesn't care. And I stayed up way too late looking at all the old pictures and videos on my phone of when he was little (and sending them to John while he slept, because crazy.)
Taco Ted, coming Halloween 2015.
Happy "bday" baby boy. Love, your (dog) Mama and your male role model, John.
