Yes, I'm using this picture again because the only other pictures I have from this week are of Ted, and he's already had his turn. I loved Taylor's post from earlier this week about "Pulling back the curtain on Instagram." (kind of obsessed with her blog, I comment way too much lol) So here's the real story on this one: I laughed so hard when I got home yesterday and found Ted on the couch watching the office, even though I had left it on for him intentionally. He probably wasn't paying any real attention I know, but I like to pretend that he was and that he loves Mindy Kaling as much as I do. I left the TV on for him because it was storming really badly outside and it just seemed like the nice thing to do, so I thought an outside picture would be a cool visual for my funny story. But all the trees around my apartment are not cool looking, so I took when I went to the mailbox later on. Sounds easy enough, but no. It was raining and I had to enter the pool area to get this up close shot of half a palm tree and dark clouds. Again, that was enter the pool area in the rain, take a picture, walk away and get back in my car. Ridiculous right? And only 14 likes for all that work ;)
Johns left for a work trip to Chicago on Wednesday, so the past few days I've been here doing all my favorite "alone-time" things...like slowly perusing Target, wearing face masks to bed, sitting at this computer for a ridiculous amount of time every night, and my all time favorite alone activity, eating.
Lol. I literally just laughed out loud after I typed that because the my fingers just pressed on the keys before I could even stop to think. But, it's true! I do miss him when he's gone, of course. But I kind of love sitting on the floor in front of the TV every night with a coffee table full of "snacks." And by snacks I don't mean eating small, I mean like a whole snack buffet covering the coffee table and calling it a dinner. Last night I had cheese and crackers, salmon dip, avocado slices, a fruit plate, chips and salsa, chocolate covered cherries... basically, a big fat party for one. It's the kind of thing I used to do pre-dating-John. And sure, I could still do it now, but it's really only fun when I'm alone. Plus, he would eat all my snacks lightening fast, and I prefer to slowly pick at them all for at least an hour or two.
But as much fun as that is, I'm feeling a little jealous of John because he's probably been sleeping in a big lush hotel bed, watching cable and eating deep dish pizza. (I know for sure that last part is true) Where as I still haven't slept well since April 11th (when we got Ted lol.) I thought it would be so great with just Ted and I for a few days, but go figure, Ted still prefers to sleep on my pillow curled up around my head instead of annnnyyywhere else on the bed. But I do feel bad for him since it's been raining the past few days (but, hallelujah lower temps!) and he's been stuck mostly inside, and his fun parent isn't here. He's been quite a handful all on my own. (..yes I complain a lot, it's just my nature)
Johns not getting home until late, late tonight (basically tomorrow) so I'm going to try this again and go to the movies tonight to see Trainwreck. Finally. I know everyone else saw this like a month ago, but I'm not that cool.
So other than celebrating Ted's life this week, that's about it.
But, just in case anyone does read this and wants more entertainment, here's a few things I found hilarious this week:
This is how you make fun of Taylor Swift. - Some parts are a little "much" (read offensive), but I watched this video 3 times and had to pause it each time I was laughing so hard at the same part, "in 1993 I was 4 when my favorite movie came out, Homeward Bound!" (source-betcheslovethis)
Things that will happen if I don't take my phone out right now. - My worst fear, "I will make eye contact with someone." (source-cupofjo)
And the real life funniest thing that happened- I was pretending to be Transformer Robots with the kids I nanny, and the 5 yr. old told me to "scan modes!" so I pretended to "scan a mode" (basically make weird noises and look like I'm climbing into a pair of pants) and he looked at me so straight faced and went, "I have no idea where you learned that, but no." I was like HAHAHA, I learned it from you kid!! Haha, I suck at boy things. But I rock at playing house. (and I don't mean being a house wife John, but I'm good at that too)
Anyways back to the topic of phones...we're going to do a "no phone weekend" starting tomorrow morning, so until next week!
