The weekly report- party for one, your coffee tables ready.

Yes, I'm using this picture again because the only other pictures I have from this week are of Ted, and he's already had his turn. I loved Taylor's post from earlier this week about "Pulling back the curtain on Instagram." (kind of obsessed with her blog, I comment way too much lol) So here's the real story on this one: I laughed so hard when I got home yesterday and found Ted on the couch watching the office, even though I had left it on for him intentionally. He probably wasn't paying any real attention I know, but I like to pretend that he was and that he loves Mindy Kaling as much as I do. I left the TV on for him because it was storming really badly outside and it just seemed like the nice thing to do, so I thought an outside picture would be a cool visual for my funny story. But all the trees around my apartment are not cool looking, so I took when I went to the mailbox later on. Sounds easy enough, but no. It was raining and I had to enter the pool area to get this up close shot of half a palm tree and dark clouds. Again, that was enter the pool area in the rain, take a picture, walk away and get back in my car. Ridiculous right? And only 14 likes for all that work ;)

Oh well.

Johns left for a work trip to Chicago on Wednesday, so the past few days I've been here doing all my favorite "alone-time" things...like slowly perusing Target, wearing face masks to bed, sitting at this computer for a ridiculous amount of time every night, and my all time favorite alone activity, eating.

Lol. I literally just laughed out loud after I typed that because the my fingers just pressed on the keys before I could even stop to think. But, it's true! I do miss him when he's gone, of course. But I kind of love sitting on the floor in front of the TV every night with a coffee table full of "snacks." And by snacks I don't mean eating small, I mean like a whole snack buffet covering the coffee table and calling it a dinner. Last night I had cheese and crackers, salmon dip, avocado slices, a fruit plate, chips and salsa, chocolate covered cherries... basically, a big fat party for one. It's the kind of thing I used to do pre-dating-John. And sure, I could still do it now, but it's really only fun when I'm alone. Plus, he would eat all my snacks lightening fast, and I prefer to slowly pick at them all for at least an hour or two.

But as much fun as that is, I'm feeling a little jealous of John because he's probably been sleeping in a big lush hotel bed, watching cable and eating deep dish pizza. (I know for sure that last part is true) Where as I still haven't slept well since April 11th (when we got Ted lol.) I thought it would be so great with just Ted and I for a few days, but go figure, Ted still prefers to sleep on my pillow curled up around my head instead of annnnyyywhere else on the bed. But I do feel bad for him since it's been raining the past few days (but, hallelujah lower temps!) and he's been stuck mostly inside, and his fun parent isn't here. He's been quite a handful all on my own. (..yes I complain a lot, it's just my nature)

Johns not getting home until late, late tonight (basically tomorrow) so I'm going to try this again and go to the movies tonight to see Trainwreck. Finally. I know everyone else saw this like a month ago, but I'm not that cool.

So other than celebrating Ted's life this week, that's about it.

But, just in case anyone does read this and wants more entertainment, here's a few things I found hilarious this week:

This is how you make fun of Taylor Swift. - Some parts are a little "much" (read offensive), but I watched this video 3 times and had to pause it each time I was laughing so hard at the same part, "in 1993 I was 4 when my favorite movie came out, Homeward Bound!" (source-betcheslovethis)

Things that will happen if I don't take my phone out right now. - My worst fear, "I will make eye contact with someone." (source-cupofjo)

And the real life funniest thing that happened- I was pretending to be Transformer Robots with the kids I nanny, and the 5 yr. old told me to "scan modes!" so I pretended to "scan a mode" (basically make weird noises and look like I'm climbing into a pair of pants) and he looked at me so straight faced and went, "I have no idea where you learned that, but no." I was like HAHAHA, I learned it from you kid!! Haha, I suck at boy things. But I rock at playing house. (and I don't mean being a house wife John, but I'm good at that too)

Anyways back to the topic of phones...we're going to do a "no phone weekend" starting tomorrow morning, so until next week!

Bye! x.

  2. BLOGGER SUCKS. I just wrote a superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr long comment and then blogger goes "sorry can't post your comment at this time sucks to suck" so here is a summary:
I love that blog you shared. I hadn't heard of it before but it rocks! And you should update your daily reads tab so I can stalk other blogs you follow
The T swift video=soooo funny! The special guest at our show was a lady whose toddler just passed away from cancer and she played a song she wrote for their family so it was really cool/sweet. So I didn't really connect that video with Taylor bc she didn't welcome anyone to the stage but it was still super funny (the video of course)
anddddd I mentioned something about how alone time is awesome and i fill mine with mary kate + ashley movies. And that a no phone weekend sounds amazing and I need to muster up the ability to do so myself.

    HAPPY FRIDAY. YOU SUCK, BLOGGER

    1. OMG NOW I FEEL SO BAD! Taylor swift is super nice, I love her for real, but I still laughed so hard at that video. Aww. God I feel like a jerk now. Any who, yes BLOGGER DOES SUCK! I comment back all the time, and I don't think it lets anyone know. How do I change that?! I don't want to talk to myself here lol. And you shouldn't have even brought up Mary Kate n Ashley..I have been obsessed with them my whole life haha. Even if they are a little creepy now.

    2. DONT FEEL BAD! That video was sooo funny! Our special guest just happened to be a tragic story but other than that I bet it's really funny after seeing that video :) haha k so here is a little secret I to make it so people see you replied (yours doesn't let people know, I just check to see if you replied haha) so you have to reply to the actual comment EMAIL that you get saying you got a comment. So don't judge me but I reply to the email AND the I copy and paste my response on the comment on my blog so that other people can see that I do reply / see answers to a question they might have. It's not that bad to do both, just kinda silly. I LOVE MK + A. I told Jason I would be MK and he could be A for halloween but he didn't like that idea...

  3. I liked that photo!! I feel so legit knowing I was in that lot! Haha. I hate when Jacob is gone...I tend to live on cereal when he leaves me...and cookie dough. Lol. I definitely look at my phone to avoid making eye contact. Haha. Finally in regards to your question 👆🏻 there, I receive emails for all comments and then I just reply to the email otherwise they never know you replied (I learned that from experience).

  5. There is certainly something lovely about a good, uninterrupted period of alone time. Sometimes my soul secretly squeals with glee when I know I'm about to have the house to myself, because I'm like: FINALLY. I JUST WANT TO WATCH MIND-NUMBING TV SHOWS IN THE BATH TUB WHILE I EAT OUT OF CONTROL PORTIONS OF CHOCOLATE CAKE. And it's a lot better without any judgy judgy eyes. :)

    1. Hahaha yes, the judgy eyes are a buzz kill. Next time he's out of town I am definitely going to get in the bath with some cake now, that is a fantastic idea! xo.

  6. I live for my alone time. Probably wayyy too much but there is nothing better than eating a ton of food that do not go together at all and binge watching shows that everyone in the world would make fun of you for watching. That's what I'm the most worried about for when Bill and I live together, that I won't be able to do my weird lazy alone day things hahah. No cellphone weekend sounds amazing! I basically had that this weekend because I had no service and it was quite refreshing!

    1. I forgot you guys don't live with each other yet! That's going to be an adjustment, all those little things...just wait until you can't do other things like pick at your face for an hour every night! (or that might just be me haha) I just love having lazy days where no one knows what I'm doing, it's the best. And our no phone weekend was a bust. We totally broke the rules almost right away. Oh well, there's always other weekends! Where were you that you had no service?! I do love when that happens actually!

  7. Oh my gosh when Michael is gone I eat so much, and SO unhealthy! He has the self-control in the relationship. I both look forward to it and dread it, because who knows how many pounds I'll pack on?! Hahaha. I love the 5-year-old's sassy comment! "But, no." So funny coming from a child.

    1. Haha, he has the self control That's so funny. I don't think guys understand snacking though, I think it's totally a girl thing. If I had a choice I would live on snacks only. I like to try a little of everything and when it's snack sized it just seems like it's "not so bad" haha.

  8. OMG. the Taylor Swift thing! I can't even handle it!

And I definitely had a snack party the other night... except my snacks were not even close to as healthy as the things you listed. Peanut M&Ms, york peppermint patties, chips and dip, starburst jelly beans, oreos, and twizzlers.

    I can't help it.
