Life lately. (admittingly a filler post..)

Because, you know. My life is still falling apart in many ways, but I don't want to completely neglect my blog here, so I figured I'd throw in a "life lately" post  and that should fulfill my weekly blogging quota. I usually like to take my time with anything I post, but I just lost the last 20 minutes to googling Kourtney Kardashian and Justin Bieber (I don't believe it), so now I'm short on time...

So here's a little bit of what's been going on based on all the forgotten photos on my phone:

Johns Mom took this picture and I love it so much. Ted and I have this whole like, ten minute routine where we hug and kiss and I say things like "I miss you so much! Were you a good boy today?????!!!" I think I love it so much because Ted doesn't do this with John. It's just "our" thing, haha. And this is obviously from a while ago because it is freeeeezing here now. No more tank tops. I've seriously been wearing my down Northface coat in the mornings, it's that cold.

And speaking of being a crazy dog person, I still have a million pictures of this little girl in my phone that I just cannot bring myself to get rid of yet. (But at least I'm not like John who texts his aunt every few days to check on her lol. He's a good one.) So a little update on her for anyone who's interested- she is very, very happy in Michigan! She has a new shihtzu bff. And she has a Michigan State hoodie and multiple hand-knitted sweaters. She is going to be more than spoiled and live a very happy life there. And I'm pretty sure Ted has forgotten about her already, so all is back to normal around here. (Or as normal as it can get right now, haha.) OH! And her official new name is "Taco Bella" haha. Or just "Bella." So cute right?

I posted a lengthy snapchat about this the other week, but it was just too crazy! I stopped into this little grocery store to grab a few things, and when I got back to my car I saw this note and I was immediately like, "great, someone hit my car and left a note", but it was this! I didn't think the message itself was too weird, because these go green people are everywhere (seriously if Johns wearing anything MSU anywhere, there's a chance we will hear a random "go green" haha) but the notepad paper itself is from the hotel we stay at in Vegas! I thought it was some kind of sign or good luck charm (of course), so I still have it in my car.

So, back to Ted. I still don't think he has any idea still that we're moving, but I guess how could he? He's a dog. He's handled it all pretty well so far, but I do think he misses his things though. Like his couch that he likes to crawl on top of. And his rug that he likes to take all of his treats too before he will eat them. And his mirror that he likes to look at himself in and lick. I'm excited to see how he reacts when we bring him to a new place. But, I'm sure he will be fine. Because he is a dog..

This doesn't really look like anything special, but I met John for lunch the other week around where his job is, and there's just something I like about it. Aren't those street lights cute? It's a tiny little town where there's more small Mom & Pop shops than there are chains, and we had the best lunch at this soda shop. And even though I had one too many vanilla Cokes and had a stomach ache afterward, it made for a really nice day....because other than that lunch I don't remember the last time I ate with John. (I asked him last night very seriously, "do you think you're a workaholic?" Haha.)

And because we don't have hardly any food left in this place, my meals lately look something like this. I call it "balance." Meaning, one bite of this...one bit of that...

Oh and here is a very, very large spider that Ted and I found the other night. And this isn't even the biggest one I've seen here. Please tell me there's not tranchulas in the Carolinas??? (JK, I know it's not a real tranchulas. At least I don't think...)

And this one is for John. He got all these beard combs in the mail last week and asked if I wanted to take a picture of them, so I was like, "sure." (Lol..) And then he brushed my hair with every single one to demonstrate how nice they are, haha. I could not stop laughing because they were so tiny, I was like, "umm these are totally for barbie dolls." Haha. (Also documented via snapchat.)

..And now that I've mentioned snapchat two times, I have to admit...I love it. I love it a lot. I told John that maybe it's because he is never around so I've been enjoying talking to my phone, haha. (Because I don't really do it when he is around, he would make fun of me lol.) But no really, it's so fun. I think it's just another cool way to story tell and document the days. The only thing is that I wish I could save them all, but that would require a lot, a lot of storage. So I just have to let them go...

And not to toot my own horn or anything here, but I got these message from my good friend earlier this week:

She probably only thinks I'm funny because she's known me forever, but still I was like, "YES!!" I think this was the day I rambled on about that One Direction song that bothers me so much, haha. So, maybe I won't be blogging much until we're settled again but I definitely will be snapchatting the mess that is my life probably daily. (Or multiple times daily.) So feel free to follow me so I'm not talking to myself- mvapfel.

I almost snapchatted about these boots this morning too, but I was like, "Morgan shut up no one wants to hear about your shopping every time!" So I didn't....but that doesn't mean I can't blog about it right? So..I bet no one has even noticed but I've been on the hunt for leather boots for months. I ordered one pair, sent them back. Bought another, took them back. I wanted the perfect boot and I finally found it, but they were about a hundred dollars over my price range. So I just sadly looked them up online everyday wishing I could get them. (True story lol.) And then yesterday the family I work for got me a Christmas gift and what do you know, a $100 gift card to Nordstrom. So guess where I went this morning....to buy the boots. I am obsessed.

We're off to Austin tonight to drop Ted off/stay at my Moms and then flying to Chicago tomorrow for the weekend. If I don't blog again before Christmas - MERRY CHRISTMAS! And if I don't blog again until the new year then - HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

x.

  1. I love that first picture of you and Ted!! The emotion on Ted's face says "Please never leave me again!!!!!!!" so cute :) And holy crap I feel ya, I haven't had a desire to blog this week yet. And it's Thursday! December has been real real crazy! But obviously I wish you blogged every day haha
This makes me so mad that I don't open snapchat everyday!!! I haven't used it really because my camera on my phone broke (I think I did a snap about that) so it's annoying because my selfie camera works and no one wants to see my face for each snap chat! SO yeah then that results in me not even opening the app. That's gotta change! The beard combs haha I keep hearing about those!! So funny he brushed your hair with each one, just imagining it makes me laugh.
When is your official move date? Have you already mentioned it??! I know it's coming up but like when!! Good luck!!!!! And those boots!! So cute!!! Thank goodness for rich nanny families who give great gifts :)
    xoxo Candace

    1. Seriously Candace I miss you please do some selfie snaps. I do lol. I did about ten yesterday with my no makeup face lol I don't care. Blogging is really hard for everyone right now I think. You have the best excuse ever though lol. I just don't want to stand over my kitchen counter and write. We have a laptop but it's so slow I never use it. I'll be happy once we get settled down again. I don't think I said anything officially but we're going to be homeless/stay with my mom or sister for a week and then move the 27th. Soon living out of a suitcase and eating takeout lol.

For real though, I miss your internet presence. Come back soon lo

  2. One of our dogs gets waaay more excited to see Michael (and she just all around likes him better) and it makes me so mad! Hahaha. But I love that you and Ted have that routine. Also I was going to say why does he need so many beard combs?! But like...are they different? I only have one comb and one brush for my hair... Haha! Those boots are SO pretty. Love love love them!!!

    1. Lol yes they are ALL different...don't even ask me. He was using Teds comb on his beard before lol, so now at least he isn't doing that. I have two brushes, but one is for wet hair or else I would never be able to brush my hair out after a shower haha. I worry about getting two dogs because then what if we each have a different favorite then???? I like that we just have Ted to fight over lol.

  4. Loveee those boots! I've been on the hunt for new brown boots also but I just can't get myself to spend so much right now. Trying to be an adult it hard haha! Love the photo of you and Ted! Definitely one of the best parts of big dogs is that they can really give you "hugs". I need to start following you on snapchat, I just always forget to snap so I forget to follow new people, but I'll do it now. Mine is susiew111 (real original huh?). I'm also glad that you said you haven't really been blogging because I've been nonexistent haha. Bill finally got a job in NY (!!) so we've been celebrating and getting ready for that and basically just living our lives outside of blogging for the holidays haha. Good luck with the move and Merry Christmas!

    xx,
    Susie

    1. Yay you for Bill!!! So you're not moving to Boston then! Not to say that both aren't cool, because they are I think. Speaking of New York, our uber driver this morning was from New York and I was like "I like your accent" lol. I wonder if you have an accent. I'll have to watch you on snapchat to see ;)
