I'm all about some easy blogging posts right now, so I put together a little bit of what life looked like in February based on random pictures that I have. I feel like since I hopped on the snapchat wagon I haven't been taking as many pictures as I used to. Or because my life is just really boring, haha. Maybe it's a little bit of both. I'm going to try harder for March, but in the mean time here's what's leftover from February.
I haven't been out to Johns new job site much, but I did bring him lunch one day and he drove me all around in this golf cart thing...(what's it called John?) and it was pretty terrifying because it was all bumps and hills and there were no seatbelts which I thought there should have been, haha. I always find it pretty interesting actually to watch his jobs and see the changes that happen. When I first saw this one I was like, "um, there's nothing here...." and the next time there were walls, and I bet next time there will be...well, just more. (I'm really good at explaining this aren't I?) It really is kind of cool to see the progression happen.
So Johns not working as much as he was in Texas, but still, more than I'd like. And on Fridays they've been doing like a "happy hour" thing after and usually I'm like, "uh, no. Just call me when you need a ride." But I showed up one day and it was kind of fun. I'm such a stick in the mud. (I don't even know what this phrase means, but it sounds about right.) I got this shrimp plate that was so spicy and took me about an hour to eat. And I felt like this coaster that said Charlotte needed its picture taken, haha. (I've been wondering why there are crowns everywhere, and I just found out this is called the "queen city.")
So I did snapchat this dog a bit, but it's our friends new little poodle. She was a wild thing. Her name is "Townsend" isn't that cute? I say it just the way it's spelled like "town-send" but everyone else was like, "town-sin." So do I talk weird?
Oh, and I talked about this on snapchat too. (See what I mean?) That's a camel. And there are donkeys, and a horse, and some other animals that I couldn't quite make out just by driving by. But it made me really mad! It was 29 degrees out this day!! Is that wrong or am I crazy? It's some kind of business. I think like a party place. I'm sure they're for like kiddie parties, but I don't like it. It made me sad all day. This is why I can't watch the news..
This might be the biggest smile I've ever seen on John. We finally saw Star Wars. And I mostly played on my phone.
And this how we watch movies at home. Ted was seriously sleeping on me. All (almost) 70 pounds of him. We need a bigger couch. I'd love a giant 'L' shaped one someday. And my motto on bad pictures of myself is, "just make it black and white!"
I went to donuts last week with my friend, and holy cow guys, the bacon donut is where it's at! This place (Ducks donuts in case anyone wants to know) was AMAZING. They only have one kind of donut, cake (which is my favorite anyways), but you get to choose the frosting and the topping and they're all made to order right in front of you. I am already trying to make an excuse to go back, but it's not near me at all...which is probably a good thing.
And then afterwards, I got lost of course. So I drove in circles downtown texting John, "can't find the highway" and taking pictures. I actually start my new job next week and I'll have to drive this way...wish me luck. And I've heard great things about Charlotte traffic in the mornings..so, yeah. Wish me luck. (But a job!! Finally!)
I'm not a food photographer so excuse me if this looks gross, but very exciting news here - it's getting warm! On Sunday we (John) grilled some brats and it was so, so nice out. Last summer (or really all year) we would be like, "let's grill this weekend" and we never did because the pool used to be so far away from us, but at our new apartment we're right across the street so we better make good use of it! I want to do some good old fashioned cheeseburgers next time.
Also from Sunday night, haha. Just playing around though, he didn't keep it. We actually took this picture for Johns Dad because he just started chemo (haven't talked about this yet, not my story to tell) and he's really sad that he's going to lose his mustache soon and Johns all like,"it's easy just shave it off." But John has NEVER seen his Dad without a mustache so it's a pretty big deal. I don't really care for facial hair, but I kind of got Matthew McConaughey vibes from this, haha. (Not like Dallas Buyers Club, more like Dazed and Confused maybe.)
And that's pretty much it for what happened in my life this month. There are a lot of Ted pictures, but I'm working on something else with those...(duh he needs a 1 year post all to himself right?) John looked through my camera roll the other day and went "whoa." Like I take at least 30 a day of him. I just need to work on documenting the other parts of my life. (Once I figure out what the other parts are.)
Happy March 1st everyone! Let's keep our fingers crossed that spring is already here!
