June Leftovers.

HOLY JULY?! July always makes me go...wow where'd half a year go? I mean, I guess we  have done a lot this year, but it feels like 2016 (or whatever the year is) just started and then BAM! It's almost over. Crazy. Cray, cray, cray. I remember around this time last year everyone was talking about how hard it was to blog, and I think that's just summer in general. It gets in the way of everything, but that's because it should. This has been coming up a lot in my fitness groups and the excuse and the answer is always, "it's summer." But it's true! What's life if we're not enjoying things like summer. I mean, really? So with that thought in mind...I am going to go ahead and commit to blogging once a week until further notice, haha. (As if I wasn't already doing that, lol.) And I think I'll shut down next week...and do some work. Again, NO ONE CARES MORGAN, but just feel like it's only the right thing to say beforehand. And last time I did that I actually DID get a few messages like, "where are you??" So maybe people do care, lol...?

NOW, moving onto June though! It was a big month, but at the same time...a boring month for us. Our first full month back in Texas, so there's been mostly "settling in" boring stuff, but we've also done some fun stuff. So let's take a little looksy at what's leftover...

Part of our "get happy" goals for moving here was to start really making time for dates. We're the worst sometimes and choose saving money over...pretty much everything, but we decided it's worth it and we NEED to start just doing it. So every Saturday we've been trying a new restaurant and taking some time just to hang out with each other. A few weeks back we went on a lunch date, and then afterwards went to Nebraska Furniture Mart to hang out because...if you didn't know this, and you probably don't unless you live in Omaha or Dallas, Nebraska Furniture Mart is THE MOST INCREDIBLE PLACE ON THE PLANET. Seriously, all of our nicer furniture is from there and when we lived in Omaha we would go there FOR FUN just to walk around and make our dream list of things we wanted to buy someday. Even John, WHO IS A GUY (obviously) enjoys doing this. We had no idea there was another one outside of Omaha, but just goes to show that we were meant to be here, right? The only thing we ended up getting was a new phone case for John, and this is a random story, but my blog/my life - so the lady who checks him out takes his credit card, asks for his ID, and then because it's a Michigan ID I'm guessing, she gets weird and asks, "what's your zipcode?" And he tells her. Then she goes, "what's your house number?" Which makes no sense, because there's no way she needed that information you know? And she was HOLDING HIS ID. And it made him so mad and bothered him all day, hahaha. I thought it was so funny so I kept bringing it up afterwards, haha. (He hates people, lol. Sorry John, but you do.)

From one of our dates. Probably the best thing we've had here so far. Shrimp and jalape├▒o wrapped in bacon. I only had two...but could have easily had like, twenty-five lol. They were so good. Someone visit us so we can take you here!

Also from a date night. Seriously, I'm so emotional this week and I miss that guy. How cute is he?

But other than those date days....I usually look like this, haha. A sweaty mess on the floor with my dog licking my face. This was for something...something on Facebook I can't remember. I'm always telling my group to send me selfies, lol. It's hard working out in a  small apartment, but so far I think this set up works better than our last place. We are on the second floor now, but luckily there's just someones garage beneath us so I'm hoping my STOMP STOMP STOMP isn't bothering anyone, lol. Because if it is, too bad...

And seriously, that Texas sky. Like DREAM CLOUDS. I could take a picture of them every night. It feels really, really good to be back here. (Even the heat!!) All feels right so far.

And it must be because I am finding MORE lucky pennies. WHAT THE HELL RIGHT? I thought we were done with that. But I have like, three right now. (I keep them in different pockets of things, lol. I'm so weird!) Whenever I find them I send a picture to John. I told him all the ones back in the Carolinas were for him, now these ones are for me. I need some luck in my life. (In the literal LIFE department. Like what am I doing with my LIFE. Someone tell me.)

But that's another story for another day. (Or not...) In other news, we got a new car! (Which was a nightmare, but when is it not? Lol. I don't know how many times I threatened to John that I was going to walk away if it got weird, lol.) So the deal was, John got a company truck so we really only needed one personal vehicle now. So we were going to get rid of the car and I was going to keep Johns truck. But...as much as I was like, "yeah that's cool that's fine..." it really wasn't, haha. It was too much for me. Too long. And way, WAY too hard to park. We did "parking lessons" one day and it ended up with neither of us speaking by the time we got home, haha. So this was something that we both liked AND could drive comfortably. So now we have a "family" vehicle. (Even though it's going to be 99% mine.) And obviously it won't just be the two (I mean three) of us forever, so this is sort of "planning ahead." My step sister actually just got one too...because...

SHE HAD A BABY!!! We have a niece! Isn't she so perfect?!?! I have a few pictures of her, but this one is my favorite because it was the first one I got so it was the first time I was like, "OMG that's a baby. THAT'S THE BABY!" Like, you know how when someone's pregnant and you know there's a baby in there, but you can't really picture it so it doesn't seem real? It was like that. I don't know when we will be able to go back home to visit, but I cannot wait to meet this little girl. Growing up is SO CRAZY. People settling down. Buying SUV's. Having babies!! It's all happening, isn't it?

I think that's probably where my head's at right now. Why I'm "freaking out" a bit about life. Like, we're settling here...we're getting older...life's real now. I guess if I freaked out before about life while we were moving around, then this shouldn't be a surprise. Those were all temporary freak outs about life, this time it's all much more real and permanent. So...gonna go on to say that July should be full of more of that, haha. But that's okay. It's summer.

Alrighty, until next time. Maybe I'll be back with that story I promised...
xx

  1. Hahaha you and John not speaking after the parking lesson is so relatable (spell check says that isn't a word, and neither is relateable...but people say that, don't they?!). We don't have a truck and Michael probably wouldn't even want to drive/park one, but there are definitely teaching situations where we would for sure end up not speaking. An SUV is our next car purchase too because #future buuut we're not really gonna be able to afford one for 4.5 years when we don't have a car payment. Replacing a car payment with another car payment...adult life.

    1. Lol yeah...life was easier when I was a kid and my parents just bought me a car haha. Now it's like..wait what, it's THAT MUCH? EVERY MONTH? But, John is weird he's all about being safe and having a new car and it being under warranty always and whatever, it usually works out in my favor haha. And what the heck..relatable I say that all the time. (Maybe not all the time, but enough lol.) You would not believe the things I have to spell check. It'd be super embarrassing if anyone ever checked my history. For a lot of reasons actually lol.

    1. Lol omg I know isn't she so cute!!! I died. I'll probably really die when I meet her. Being all the way in Texas sort of sucks for these things...and yours will be here soon enough!!! I will die them too!!!!

  4. NFM is a dangerous black hole. We are pretty close to the one here but avoid it most of the time otherwise I would want to buy everything. I bought my computer there last year & signed up for the credit card but I refuse to activate it, haha. Yay for the new car! There's no way I'd be able to drive/park a truck either. And what an adorable baby! There have been babies galore this past year so I hear ya!

    1. Lol it is dangerous. Especially because they throw the financing option in your face haha. It's so fun to just "dream" about having a million dollars though and what you'd buy if you could. (Sort of depressing, but sort of fun lol.)

  5. Cheers to a new car, that is so much fun. And yes to date nights, so important even if they are cheap inexpensive dates. I love doing dinner date nights at new places.

    1. I find it so hard to find/think of cheap dates though lol. To us, it's like going out to eat or nothing else. We could find..I don't know, parks to do picnics..or go hiking, or free things, but we would rather just stay home haha. So bad.
